I like to think that the Company L’Ape Tito was founded in 1980 and that Andrea Melis, the founder, didn’t even notice it.
Well, that was it!
It all started here in Sant’Andrea Frius, when I was just 3 years old and my father started attending classes. They were held by Maestro Peppino Diana, a pioneer of modern beekeeping in Sardinia.
The hum in the countryside, the first swarms of bees, the passion for these small insects and the growing experience did the rest.
That’s all? No!
I also had my wonderful honey for free without lifting a finger.
My little sister, Simona was beginning to appreciate its taste.
A few years later Claudio arrived and the honey at home began to run low.
Fortunately, there was our mother, Serentina who always found time for everything: for us, for the home and for the bees.
Meanwhile spring follows spring right up to the present day and Simona, Claudio and I, finally produce our honey.
Now we also grow almonds, walnuts and myrtle and with the fruits we produce excellent nougat.
Many things have changed but the taste of honey has not. As good as it was then it is as good as ever!
Almost 40 years after that famous 1980 my family and I thank our customers.
More and more people have said to us, “Let yourself be known”, and also, “Put a nice little design on your products and they will also become irresistible gift ideas”.
